Denver doesn’t need to leave Denver. Paramount is 10 miles east, in Aurora.
If you live in Denver and you’re looking at addiction treatment options, the trade-off most people make is between very expensive private rehab in Denver proper or driving to a much cheaper program somewhere far away. There’s a third option: an affordable, Medicaid-friendly program just east of the city.
Paramount Rehab Center is located in Aurora, about 15 to 25 minutes from most Denver neighborhoods. That’s close enough that your support system stays accessible — family visits during family programming, your employer’s accommodations work, your kids’ schools are reachable. And it’s far enough that the environment of treatment feels separate from the environment of using.
Why Denver clients choose us
Affordability that doesn’t show up in the design. Most of the rehabs in Denver positioned at our price tier look like motels. We’ve invested in the brand and the facility because the families we serve deserve to feel respected. Affordable isn’t the same as cheap.
Medicaid in-network. Health First Colorado covers most of our programs in full. If you’re in Denver and uninsured, we can help you check Medicaid eligibility — many people qualify and don’t realize it.
Aurora-Denver coordination. Our care team coordinates with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, and probation officers across the metro. The transition between Aurora-based treatment and Denver-based life is something we’ve designed for.
Family programming that works for Denver families. Group meetings happen on evenings and weekends. Family education is built into every program. Most family members in our program live in the Denver metro and attend regularly.
The kinds of programs Denver clients use most
We offer the full continuum of care, but Denver clients typically use one of three pathways:
Residential then step-down. For more severe cases — particularly first-time treatment for opioid or alcohol use disorder — clients start in residential and step down through IOP over the course of three to six months.
IOP from the start. For clients who need to maintain employment, custody arrangements, or other commitments, intensive outpatient (9–15 hours per week, evenings and mornings available) often works well from day one. Several Denver clients drive to us 3 days per week for IOP while continuing to work.
Outpatient and telehealth. For people stepping down from inpatient at another facility, or for moderate cases, our outpatient program offers weekly therapy and medication management with telehealth available for the convenient portion.
Getting here from Denver
Most Denver neighborhoods are 15–25 minutes from our facility:
- From Cherry Creek / Hilltop: ~15 minutes east via Leetsdale → Mississippi
- From downtown Denver / Capitol Hill: ~20 minutes via I-225
- From Stapleton / Central Park: ~15 minutes south via I-225
- From DTC: ~12 minutes east via Hampden / I-225
We coordinate transportation for clients in IOP and outpatient programs who don’t have reliable transportation. Telehealth is available statewide for the outpatient portion of treatment.
What it costs Denver residents
For Health First Colorado (Medicaid) members from Denver, treatment is covered the same as anywhere in the state. Commercial insurance plans through Denver employers (Anthem, Kaiser, BCBS Colorado, UnitedHealthcare) are in-network or out-of-network depending on the specific plan — verifiable in under a minute.
